Step 1
Adobe hasnt tried to put Illustrator inside Photoshop, but the addition of better vector tools makes creating and editing graphic elements easier and quicker
Step 2
Draw your shape using the Pen tool as before. Note that the Shape tools have been removed though theyre still available as separate tools. To create a custom vector shape, change the drop-down menu in the Options bar from Path to Shape. This unlocks Stroke, Fill and other options.
Step 3
The drop-down menus and pickers in the Options bar allow you to change, the Fill colour, Stroke colour and width and even apply dotted lines to the Stroke. The More Options button in the Stroke drop-down allows fine-tuning of you dots.
Step 4
Shapes within a Shape layer can be combined in a similar way to Illustrators Pathfinder panel. By selecting elements with each layer using the Direct Selection tool, you can build them into compound shapes adding and subtracting intersecting parts.
