The vanishing point tool in Adobe Photoshop can be used to create perspective within your existing photos. This tool can create a whole new look to your photos by extending and adding features to make them look like they were always there.

Start Adobe Photoshop CS2 or CS3 and open a photo to which you would like to add a vanishing point.

Click the "Create a New Nayer" button at the bottom of the open layers palette. You can choose a new layer containing the vanishing point. Select this layer from the layers palette, if necessary.

Choose the "Filter" menu and click on "Vanishing Point" to open up the "Vanishing Point" filter in a new window.

Choose the "Create Plane" tool from the left side of the Vanishing Point window and click in four places on your photo. These four points will define the place where you want to extend the part of your photo to where it will vanish. After placing your four points, they will create a blue grid of rectangles.

Select the "Edit Plane" tool from the "Vanishing Point" window and click and drag the corner points to change the perspective and the center points to extend any grids. You can also add additional grids to join together with your first grid.

Use the Marquee tool, Stamp tool and Brush tool to make any changes to the photo and the vanishing point.

Click the "OK" button to close the "Vanishing Point" window and apply the vanishing point filter to your photo.
