North Korea has issued another doctored picture proving that their fixation with Photoshop shows no signs of diminishing.
The secretive communist state indulged its penchant for altering images with a scene depicting North Korean leader Kim Jong-un and his advisers standing outside a children's hospital in the capital Pyongyang.
However, the oddly uncontroversial image was immediately jumped upon by keen-eyed observers who pointed out discrepancies which they claim clearly show it up as a fraud.
The image shows North Korean leader Kim Jong-un and his advisers standing outside a children's hospital in the capital Pyongyang. However, the shadows and lighting suggest they were superimposed onto the image
'Can someone please help the North Korean government out? The propaganda ministers stink at Photoshop,' writes Brian Ashcroft in a post on the gaming website Kotaku.
Ashcroft claims that that the shadow and lighting on the photograph show up the fact that Kim and his entourage were superimposed onto the image and that in particular, Kim's hand as a shadow looks too clearly defined.
It has been claimed that the shadow of Kim Jong-un's hand is too defined and there are also odd shadows around the hands of his advisers
In addition there are odd shadows around the hands of Kim's advisers, and their feet look to be slightly 'floaty' - calling to mind the infamous picture of Chinese park inspectors that was widely ridiculed last year.
Technically, an error level analysis using Photo Forensics reveals some 'rainbowing' around the figures showing some signs of Photoshop manipulation.
Indeed, if the picture is not faked then at least it has been altered.
However, some have questioned why the leader of the nuclear-armed rogue state would bother to doctor an image of him appearing outside a hospital.
Doctored: This picture of a fleet of hovercrafts has also been accused of being a fake
In this photo released in April 2012, a North Korean tank is carrying what appears to be a new missile during a military parade in Pyongyang. However, the image is wildly suspected to be a fake
The say that the effects and shadowing on the photograph could simply be the result of the flash used for the image.
However, North Korea is no stranger to photo-manipulation. In March the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) released an image of a fleet of marauding hovercraft unloading marines for an amphibious exercise.
However, most experts agreed that the majority of the hovercraft in the image had been doctored.
The French photographic news agency AFP recalled the photograph saying: 'This general service picture of March 26, 2013, is being removed due to excessive digital alteration, compromising its news content. Please remove all copies from your systems. We and thank you for your cooperation, and apologize for any inconvenience.'
And earlier in 2012 a picture of a ballistic missile being paraded through the capital was held up as a fake.
